Hijacked Website Removal

It is becoming increasingly common for lapsed domains (old website names) to be bought and used by counterfeiters to sell fake goods. These are referred to as hacked websites or hijacked websites.

UK Anti Piracy supplies numerous organisations with anti piracy services. These include the English Pool Association (which is the official governing body for 8 Ball Pool in England). As part of our service, UK Anti Piracy monitors County Pool Association and affiliated leagues websites for piracy issues.

In 2016 we identified that West Midlands County Pool Association website had been hacked - hijacked by Chinese counterfeiters and was selling fake designer goods. We notified all parties and we acted to close the website. We also contacted the necessary authorities and made them aware that West Midlands Pool Association were in no way responsible for the hijacked website - hacked website.

In the above examples, the good reputation of legitimate organisations was compromised by criminals purchasing established - respectable website names (website hijacking) and then using those names - reputations to promote - sell illegal goods.

In March 2017 we found that numerous educational and public service USA websites were hacked - websites hijacked (as above). In these cases, counterfeiters created pages on the hacked websites - hijacked websites (eg; saskarchives.com/IR15yQUk, usao.edu/Ivn5yQVC, dsusd.us/IRIDIR1T?q=node/79, andl.wjh.harvard.edu/IvUK8pLK) which all pointed to fushoes.net (pirate Chinese website selling counterfeit sports wear).

It should be noted that in each of the above cases, the attacked websites were in no way responsible for the links - Fushoes had hacked the websites.
